The most fundamental technique to begin adding more expressiveness to your drumming is dynamics. The contrast and shifting between loud and soft sounds adds drama to music, and by learning to harness dynamic changes in your own drumming you can take simple patterns, beats and fills and make them sound much more advanced and developed.
On this day of the course we will teach you how to not just think about the notes you are playing, but about the notes that will follow in the future as well. Each of the dynamic strokes explained in this video will give you a more analytical approach to begin incorporating dynamics into your practice and playing.
Dynamics are tricky, so if you find yourself having additional questions consider meeting with one of our instructors for some guidance.
