In Day 2 we will break down one of the most commonly used drumming techniques, the double stroke. Alternating between different sticking patterns is an extremely important drumming skill to develop. We use different sticking patterns all the time when phrasing rhythms at faster tempos, or splitting rhythms between different drums and percussion instruments. By learning proper technique to control our double strokes, we will begin to incorporate more complex rhythmic combinations into our playing.
